Welcome to the Glass Dreams Crystal Web site. Allow us to tell you about ourselves so you know who you are dealing with.
I am Alan Tierney and I have been working with glass for some 15 years now in East Sussex, England. I initially with stained glass through making windows and other glass artefacts. I am a qualified Adult Education Tutor and for several years I taught stained glass techniques at three colleges for Adult Education in East Sussex.
Then some five years ago I expanded my skills to include glass etching and glass engraving. Etching was mainly for small gift items such as coasters, beer and wine glasses and pendants. I have run regular workshops from my studio, on a one to one basis where students learnt many of the skills associated with stained glass and etching. The etching classes were aimed at the "hobbyist" market using hand cut masks and etching cream to achieve the desired effect.
Now we use professional software to produce the artwork and specialist films, along with a sand blasting machine to achieve a high quality, deep engraving. This enhances the glass giving it lights and shades which are a pleasure to look at and feel. By sandblasting we can produce a wide range of glass and crystal gifts. Being a sole trader I have always been able to offer a completely personal one to one service to all my customers. If you have a design or idea that can be drawn or photographed then there is a good chance we can put that design on to glass and make beautiful personalised gifts for you.
